Sony's Mark Weir explains the new stacked CMOS sensor in the Sony a9 camera. This sensor is the first of its kind to be full-frame, and it allows the camera to shoot at 20 frames per second, calculate focus and exposure 60 times per second, and have autofocus tracking that is second to none. This is all due to the sensor's ability to read data much faster than conventional CMOS sensors.
