Ironwood is a two-player asymmetric war game where one player controls the Ironclad, a mechanized force, and the other controls the Woodwalkers, a native group. The game features a unique economy where the Ironclad produces resources and the Woodwalkers must steal them. Players take turns playing cards to move, fight, and achieve their victory conditions.

The Ironcloud uses the crystals to power their machines, while the Woodwalkers harness their magic through nature's spirits. Players must choose a side and use faction-specific cards to build armies, control territory, and ultimately defeat their opponent.
