Huawei's new Kirin 970 system-on-chip is designed to heavily utilize deep learning and artificial intelligence to improve the user experience in upcoming mobile devices. The chipset features a dedicated neural processing unit (NPU) that will handle AI tasks on the device, and will be featured in the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro smartphones. The Kirin 970 also boasts improved performance and battery life compared to its predecessor.
