Uganda is investing in its first automotive manufacturing plant, aiming to mass produce electric vehicles, including a solar-powered bus. The Kira Motors Corporation, a government-supported company, is developing electric vehicles to reduce pollution and traffic congestion in Kampala. The company hopes to export its technology to other East African countries and eventually across the continent.
