Draw a Formline Box-End Design

Learn how to draw a basic formline bentwood box-end design. A box-end design was traditionally often painted on the ends (sides) of a carved Native Northwest Coast bentwood box. The front and back of the bentwood box would have more elaborate 3-D carved and painted designs and "ends" were often just painted with a "simpler" design. Even though the ends were less detailed, they could still be very complex and beautiful. Formline artwork has been created for thousands of years in parts of Alaska, Canada, and down the Northwest coast. This design in the video is a very basic one but it could be expanded on to make it more complex and ornate. Have fun, enjoy, and keep drawing and making art!
