We will be using 14-gauge marine wire, wire ferrules, a compact wire stripper, and a specialty crimper from our production facility. We’ll start by measuring the wire to the proper length and then cutting it using our tool. With our cable cut, we’ll move on to stripping the insulation. Once we know the correct amount of insulation to remove well use the cut nests from our compact wire stripper and close the tool around the wire. Next, we’ll pull the tool away from the wire removing the insulation. This tool offers multiple crimp nests to handle a wide range of wire sizes. It also has a tapered plier nose that can be used to grip, twist, bend, or pull. Lastly, this tool offers a sharp cutting blade ideal for cutting solid and stranded wires as large as 10 gauge. Make sure that you have selected the correct size wire ferrule based on the specifications of your project. We’ll place the correctly sized ferrule into the proper crimp nest of our specialty tool. Now we will insert the wire making sure that the insulation of the wire butts up to the barrel of the wire ferrule and that the conductors end at the tip of the ferrule. Simply close the tool completing one full ratchet cycle.
