African elephant Nosey was recently caught on camera partaking in a classic elephant behavior: rolling in the cool mud! As she laid down and swung her trunk, flapped her ears, and wagged her tail, Nosey was likely creating a natural skin protectant. Elephants use mud and dirt to shield their skin from the sun, biting insects, and to keep cool.
