I love homemade bread but don't have the time to knead and bake every week so I let my bread machine do the work for me! I wish I could give credit to the recipe creator but I can't remember who gave it to me, please know that this is not an original recipe of mine. Since there is no fat in this recipe, the bread has a chewier texture and firmer crust than bread that contains fat. We enjoy it as a side with meals or toasted with homemade egg or chicken salad. Using a bread machine on a 50 minute cycle you can have delicious, fresh bread in less than 2.5 hours. Although a bread machine makes this recipe easy, it is not necessary. You may hand knead or use a stand mixer if you prefer. Breville Bread Machine - https://a.co/d/dJLiVas (link to my bread machine but any machine will work) Easy French Bread (Layer in bread machine in this order or according to your manufacturer's directions) 2 cups warm water (105-110 degrees F) 5 cups all-purpose flour 2 tsp salt 1 Tbs sugar 1Tbs active dry yeast Run a pizza cycle or custom cycle for 50 minutes to mix, knead and do first rise of dough. When done, remove dough and shape. Place shaped dough on a french bread pan or cookie sheet sprayed with non-stick spray. Let rise under a damp cloth for 30-60 minutes or until doubled in size.
