Gastroparesis (stomach paralysis) TikToks?! In this video, I react to and review TikTok videos about gastroparesis, or delayed gastric emptying. Gastroparesis (gastro-, "stomach" + -paresis, "partial paralysis") is a stomach condition that's characterized by difficulty and delay in the movement of food out of the stomach and into the small intestine. The normal spontaneous movement of the muscles is somehow disrupted or abnormal, and this can lead to symptoms like nausea, vomiting, bloating, abdominal pain, weight loss, loss of appetite, and many others. While I've mostly recovered from my years with gastroparesis, this disease was by far one of the hardest I dealt with, and I'm passionate about continuing to raise awareness for this medical condition.
