Ammagaru Karthik Purnima Message For the last three days we have been celebrating our Gurus birthday delightfully. isn't it? In the siddha tradition the medical procedure is based on Pancha pranas. If you can correct pancha pranas, your physical and mental condition comes to a perfect balance and this enables you to experience a deep meditative state. It happens as an automatic process. To maintain balance of the pancha pranas in our daily life is not so difficult. it is indeed very very easy. In the pancha Bhoota Tatwas, balancing prudhvi tatwa can improve your physical condition. This can happen with balanced diet. Especially in the morning, it is important to have foods that have jiva padartha ( Life). Unboiled foods like raw vegetables, fresh fruits, Sprouts should be a part of your diet. You know about the kind of food that suits you best and the food that doesn't. You should not consume more than 75% of food to keep your self healthy. There should be a slight hunger left. Is this practice difficult? Not at all. This simple change can help you to balance the Pridvi tatwa which is the first vital element of the pancha pranas. Second is the jalatatwa The second prana belongs to Jalatatwa. Lot of people think that it is ideal to take 5 to 6 litres of water. For a few even 1 litre water is enough. By taking bath every single day and also by providing adequate water for your body you will be able to balance the second prana. Third one is the prana that is associated with the Vayu tatwa. Practice Pranayama or otherwise deep long breaths for 10 minutes every morning. Those habituated to do pranayama can continue with it. Deep long breaths that you do as a part of Sushumna Kriya Yoga pratice also very effectively balances the third prana. Next is the Agni tatwa. To balance agni tatwa physical activity or physical strain should be there for the physical body. It is good to do some of your daily chores by yourself. Physical activity should not be too much or too less. As Krishna Bhagwan has preached, you need to strike a balance in anything that you do. The middle path is the best. The last is the Akasha Tatwa. It is extremely easy to balance this tatwa. Getting enough sleep can help you balance Akasha tatwa in the body. If you can maintain balance of all these pranas in the body there will no trouble caused to the active functioning of the physical body. The mind also gets active. Balance of pancha pranas is the base for siddha medicine. For a practitioner these five principles are the basic principles to be followed. You need not be hesitant now as you are being served with such wonderful food for Gurus birthday.
