Zion City: From Dream to Reality (1). Prior to July 2024, the writer had watched with keen interest many times when Evangelist Ebuka Obi (Spiritual Director Zion Prayer Movement Outreach) shared his vision and dream of Zion City. Part of his vision was the acquisition of 20,000 plots of land for the Zion City, that would house the headquarters of the Zion Prayer Movement Outreach, university, college, primary school, Seraphic hospital, Seraphic bottled water, factories etc. His gigantic vision drew the writer closer, so much so that the writer began to offer prayers and fasting for this vision to materialize. Towards the end of June 2024, the author got a credible intelligence report that Zion Prayer Movement Outreach would likely secure their dream land at Ngor Okpala, Imo State, Nigeria. The same intelligence report explained the intricacies and complexities involved in their negotiations for the land. These intricacies were frustrating for Evangelist Ebuka Obi, as could be observed from his utterances on more than two occasions during his preachings. On Sunday 28th July 2024, Evangelist Ebuka Obi announced that Zion Prayer Movement Outreach had secured land at Ngor Okpala, Imo State. This was the good news much anticipated by many of the Zionites worldwide. Evangelist Ebuka Obi went further to announce that their ongoing 100 days fasting and prayers would be concluded at their new site between 23rd August to 25th August 2024 from 7am to 5pm daily. Let’s Do Some Arithmetic. The author heard that the land acquired for Zion City project was 20,000 plots of land. Let us do a conservative estimate. Suffice it to say that since July 28th 2024 till date, at least over N4 billion would have been spent so far on this project. This is money that has been added to Imo State economy. Economic salvation is coming alongside spiritual salvation. More like killing two birds with one stone. Significance of this project. This is will bring additional spiritual revival to Imo State, entire South East, South South, and other parts of Nigeria. Ngor Okpala has been placed on the spotlight and on the world map. Little known Ngor Okpala community is now known to all Zionites worldwide and those following Zion Prayer Movement Outreach on all social media platforms. Lands around the area has appreciated. Many people are keen to secure lands around the Zion Headquarters. Realizing that many people want to buy lands around the area, Evangelist Ebuka Obi the Spiritual Director of Zion Prayer Movement Outreach has asked people to wait for further directives from him on when to start buying and the locations to buy. Ngor Okpala has become a Mecca of some sort. Tourism to Imo State will be boosted. More money will flow into the local economy as a result of people that would be attending the crusade and subsequent activities there. There would be presence of many security personnel around the area. Many politicians and other high profile individuals will like to identify themselves with this project. There would be a lot of economic activities in and around the premises. More churches started by Igbos might likely follow his foot steps to locate their headquarters at the South East. This step symbolizes the philosophy of Aku ru ulo. Many will be inspired to invest at South East especially with the current situation of things whereby Igbos are constantly being threatened at the slightest provocation to go back. At completion, Zion City would by far be the biggest non state project at Imo State since its creation. Correct the author if he is wrong. Moving on: The author wants the Zion Prayer Movement Outreach to source there suppliers, laborers, engineers, bricklayers, carpenters, plumbers, electricians etc from the host community (Ngor Okpala), provided they have these skilled laborers, their charges are competitive, and they are fit for purposes. If anything they should have right of first refusal. Any architectural designs should be masterpiece that would stand the taste of time in the next 200 years. Let the city also be a wounder land itself. Consider high rising buildings, this is to have more spaces for buildings. Let the Zion City planners research other newly built cities around the world and copy what is good from them. Tree planting should be non-negotiable. Eco friendly city is best. Just like Zion Prayer Movement Outreach has Yoruba, Hausa, French interpreters, they should not forget to get an Igbo interpreters too. Yes they need an Igbo language interpreters.
