A shot-by-shot hickory golf course vlog featuring Long Island, NY-based hickory golfer Christian Williams playing pre-1935 hickory golf at Bethpage Black Golf Course in Farmingdale, NY. Williams is an interactive golf historian with a high handicap, sharing his passion for the game through this channel where he shows how to collect, repair, and play with antique, wood-shafted golf clubs. In this round, Williams, is using five authentic wooden-shaft golf clubs from around 1930 along with a customized Titleist TruFeel ball that's been remolded with an antique mesh pattern (details on clubs and ball below). Welcome to the channel! The storied and difficult Black course at Bethpage State Park dates to 1936 and has been the site of several major championships including the U.S. Open in 2002 and 2009, the 2019 PGA Championship, and the upcoming 2025 Ryder Cup. The Black course was originally designed by Joseph Burdeck with assistance from A.W. Tillinghast, and was renovated in 2015 by Rees Jones. It's one of five public golf courses at Bethpage State Park.
