Taking their name from Ford's legendary failed automobile, the Edsels formed in the late '50s. The group consisted of lead vocalist George Jones, Jr., James Reynolds, Marshall Sewell, Harry Greene and Larry Greene. They are best remembered for their first release, "Rama Lama Ding Dong", which reached #21 on the charts in 1961, 3 years after it was released. It was dusted off by dee jays who played it because of it's similar sound to "Blue Moon" by the Marcels, which was a hit at the time. Ironically, the Edsels had broken up by the time it became a hit. "Bells" was the B-side to "Rama Lama Ding Dong". "What Brought Us Together" was the B-side to "Don't Know What To Do".
