Christina Louise Helena (August 3, 1943) is the youngest of the four older sisters of King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden. She usually uses the name Christina Magnuson. She is Prince Gustaf Adolf and Princess Sibylla's youngest daughter, and the relationship between her and her younger brother king Carl Gustav was very close when they were children and while growing up, as the age difference is only three years. Christina also functioned as a hostess and First Lady after her mother's death in 1972 until the king married queen Silvia. She lives in Stockholm, which makes it more convenient for her participation in royal duties. Christina married director Tord Magnuson in 1974. The couple have three children: Gustaf, Oscar, and Victor. She is also a godmother to her niece, Princess Madeleine. In 2010, Princess Christina overcame a battle with breast cancer after three surgeries. In 2016, the Royal House confirmed that Christina was again diagnosed with cancer – this time, chronic leukemia. In 2017, it was announced that the Princess had undergone successful stem cell treatment after other treatments proved unsuccessful. She has since been a passionate supporter of cancer-related causes. In addition to her duties on behalf of the Royal Family, she also served as chairwoman for the Swedish Red Cross. She has a keen interest in the arts and design and has devoted significant time to establishing an art museum in Stockholm. In conjunction with her 75th birthday in 2018, Christina announced that she would officially step back from royal duties after 45 years of public service to enjoy years with her family.
