The Incident: The incident unfolded when Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati, along with hundreds of his disciples, was attempting to proceed towards the Sangam for a holy dip. • Confrontation: A scuffle broke out between the Shankaracharya's procession and police personnel (2:06-2:16). • Alleged Police Action: The video shows images of police allegedly beating and detaining the Shankaracharya's disciples (2:19-2:25). It's also reported that a sadhu was beaten inside a police outpost (2:27-2:30). Shankaracharya's Perspective: Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati, known for his outspoken criticism of the Modi and Yogi governments (1:45-2:05), vehemently condemned the police action. He stated that senior officials were assaulting his saints: • "बड़े-बड़े अधिकारी थप्पड़ से मार रहे हैं और उनकी छाती में मार करके उनको गिरा दे रहे हैं। यह दृश्य जब हमने अपनी आंखों से देखा तो अब हमने निर्णय लिया कि हम वापस जाएंगे नहीं स्नान करेंगे।" (0:12-0:22) (Big officers are slapping and hitting them on their chests, making them fall. When I saw this with my own eyes, I decided I would not go back without bathing.) • He initially decided to return but changed his mind after seeing his disciples being beaten: "हमने स्वयं अपनी आंखों से देखा। बड़े-बड़े अधिकारी संतों को मार रहे हैं… उसके बाद फिर एक दल आया पुलिस वालों का और वह संतों को मारने लगे। यह क्या है?" What is this?) • He accused the government of orchestrating the incident as an act of revenge, linking it to his past criticism of the administration during the 2013 Kumbh Mela stampede (3:50-4:21, 6:05-6:30): "यह आदित्यनाथ योगी के इशारे पर हो रहा होगा क्योंकि वही हमसे खार खाए हैं। हमने कुंभ में जब भगदड़ मची थी उसके बाद के लिए उनको जिम्मेदार ठहराया था तो अब वो बदला निकालने के लिए अधिकारियों को कह रहे होंगे या उनको खुश करने के लिए अधिकारी हमारा अपमान करना चाहते होंगे।" (6:16-6:30) (This must be happening at the behest of Adityanath Yogi, because he holds a grudge against us.
