Our last stop in Indonesia was Maratua Island, the most remote and magical place we’ve ever been and definitely one of the hardest to reach but that’s exactly what makes it so special. From flying across Indonesia to staying overnight in Berau and taking a boat the next morning, just getting to Maratua felt like an adventure in itself. We didn’t meet a single American on this island and everywhere we went people were shocked we even knew it existed. There’s no shopping, barely any restaurants, just raw jungle, crystal-clear water, wild animals and the kindest people. In this vlog, we take you with us as we explore this untouched paradise: • swimming in some of the clearest water in Indonesia • snorkeling with turtles and vibrant sea life • spotting dolphins, monkeys, and giant monitor lizards • visiting local villages and meeting the community • staying in overwater bungalows that cost a fraction of Bora Bora or the Maldives This trip changed the way we look at travel, life and what it means to feel truly present.
