All cars tested mostly fully tuned with all available parts installed. PP requirements met by adjusting weight, power restrictor, etc². All cars go through a clean 1 lap run on fuel map 6 repeated 3x & the fastest time is selected. Conclusion: An engine swap option is finally available for the Alphard! Most of us were probably expecting a 2JZ but surprisingly Polyphony gave us the 1LR from the LFA! I would have still preferred the 2JZ though since it's turbocharged as opposed to the 1LR which is NA. Nevertheless, the Alphard for being a large MPV is surprisingly fast for its size! The 1LR just manages to get into A rank with a 4.09. Its standard engine is no slouch either getting into B rank with a 4.16. Handling & braking are also really good as well. Being AWD as expected the car is very grippy & stable through corners. Fuel consumption is average though where both engines only managing 2 laps. Overall, surprising performance for a car of this size & body style! Definitely faster than the Himedic that's for sure which hopefully gets an engine swap option as well. I'll admit hearing the 1LR coming out from the Alphard is a bit weird & unassuming. 🤣 The Alphard's standard engine sound great as well!
