Of all the Cosmic Mario missions, this one is by far the hardest to get every coin in. For a while, 7 coins was thought to be the maximum, with the 8th coin only possible with the use of Co-Star. However, it was discovered that you could climb the tree without Co-Star fast enough to get the 8th coin atop the planet and still win the race! Shoutouts to Dendonodon (   / @dendonodon2858  ) for showing me this was possible! As for the actual mission, there's hardly any room for error. I made two major errors in this run, but it was surprisingly still good enough to win the race. At 0:27, you don't have to spin there. I needed to spin because I didn't line the long jump up correctly. That saves a bit of time. The other error was at 0:47. Climbing this tree is very difficult to do fast. The optimal way to climb the tree is to do a wall jump toward the tree, then just as you reach it, hold neutral on the control stick and spam the jump button so that you wall jump in the opposite direction as fast as possible. If you get a good jump, then you can start slope climbing up the tree. A really good wall jump here will result in you only needing to do one slope-jump, whereas in the video I needed to do two. The rest of the run is just being incredibly optimal with your movement.
