SAAB Mille Miglia - 2 Stroke Engine Sound

Mille Miglia the most beautiful race in the world is a vintage car race which originally took place between 1927 and 1957. From 1977 it was restarted, cars which are originaly participated and cars which are from the same car type and manufacturing year can participated in the modern 1000 Miglia. The race goes over 4 days of driving and 1000 miles. The starting point and finish of the race is always Brescia (Lombardei) and the return leg starts always in Rom (Latium). In between it can vary true different cities. This year we travelled true Sirmione, Mantova, Ferrera, Cervia Milano Marittima, San Marino, Fabriano, Fermo, Amatrice, Rom, Castiglione DÒrcia, Siena, Lucca, Sarzana, Passo della Cisa, Parma, Salsomaggiore Terme, Castell' Arquato, Lodi, Bergamo, Chiari. Around 400 historic cars have been selected for this years event. The Saab 93 A from 1957 is one of the cars which participated in the last original MM race in 1957, the original car finished 1th in class and had and average speed of more then 90km/h over the entire distance of the race. This years Saab participant was also build in 1957 and has the suicide doors and the split windshield, which is a very special design feature within this period. The interior is complete original, service manual and handbook is exciting, the spare tire and tools are also original, ignition system and carburettor as it was in 1957. The engine is a 750ccm-2-stroke-3 Zylinder engine with a very special sound, the people like the sound of this little engine a lot. Saab started actually as a air craft builder and developed there first car beginning in the 50' it was called Saab 92. There was one more 2-stroke in the starting field a Iso Rivolta Isetta from 1956. Jay Leno has also a Saab 93 in his garage and there is also a video about this car from sweden on youtube. We Luka Michelle and myself finshed the race in position 152 and for a first time appearance I believe this is a very good result. We never had to open the bonnet or fixed any issue the Saab made without any problems and we just had to ad gasoline from time to time and mix it with some 2-stroke oil.
