After reading this study, which found that injectable testosterone converts to DHT at a lower rate than transdermal testosterone (cream), I decided to switch to see if my hair loss would improve—and it has! My total testosterone is almost exactly the same, but my DHT has dropped from 402 (on cream) to 295 (on injections). DHT is an androgen associated with hair loss in both men and women. When we replace our testosterone in perimenopause, menopause, and andropause, some of that testosterone will be converted to DHT. But it appears from this study (and from my own lab results) that providers may be able to minimize this conversion by changing the route of administration (from cream to injections). This is great news, especially for women struggling with hair loss who do not want to give up or lower their dose of testosterone replacement therapy due all the fantastic health benefits (muscle mass retention, mood, libido, motivation, etc.) STUDY: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/arti...
