This video is a short/quick summary of my studio portraits for Corporate/LinkedIn Portraits. The story behind the picture you see on the thumbnail is ; Check the photos on this link before : https://flic.kr/s/aHsmWh2GNn This lovely & beautiful client of mine. came to me with desperation having the first photo you see on the left being taken by another photographer which her company had hired. This anonymous photographer has taken 15-20 company worker's photos and 2 weeks later she's sent them the results and the results were disastrous. No one in the company liked the photos. They were awkward, underexposed, taken from the worse angle possible, and according to my client; the photographer's attitude was extremely distant. unprofessional, she just have 3 minutes to people whom she was photo-shooting, she used her hand gestures to position them, she asked them to ' SMILE!!', she hasn't made any personal contact and or had a conversation, she hasn't changed the light or whatsoever and most importantly, she has NOT USED A MAKE-UP ARTIST. There are so many wrong things with this previous photographer's attitude, her approach, and technique,s and on top of that 3 main things gave me cringe and goosebumps. NOT USING MAKE-UP ARTIST GIVING 3 MINUTES FOR A PHOTOSHOOT?!?! ASKING SUBJECTS/, MODELS TO ' SMILE' these 3 things above are by themselves proof that as a photographer, she doesn't know what she is doing. First of all, you can't take a professional portrait or headshot without a help of a professional makeup artist. The proof is in the picture, that's how your photos and models going to end up looking if you don't use one. Second; you can't get ANY photos in 3 minutes. Even if you are working with a famous TOP MODEL, it's just ridiculous. Probably inmates in prison get more time getting their mugshots done. and Third; you should never say ' SMILE', as cognitive psychology indicates, the moment you tell your subject to smile, they will give you an awkward fake smile and look at your face in an awkward way. You, I, everyone would do the same under those circumstances. With my work; I give a minimum of 2 hours to my photography sessions. Roughly; 1 hour is for makeup and another hour is for the photoshoot. And before the photo shoot, I have a personal one-to-one conversation with my models and clients. I explain to them the procedure, facts about photography, I show them examples and give them tips about modeling. This is very important for the results, for them to understand what's gonna happen and get to know their photographer. In the end; because they will comfortable and confident, they get beautiful, honest, natural looks and smiles. and every time, seeing their reaction go ' OH my God! Is this really me?!?' makes me feel happy. So the proof is in the pudding, see the 2 photos on the link below and tell me what you think. https://flic.kr/s/aHsmWh2GNn I would like to thank you for watching my video and I'd really appreciate it if you like and subscribe to my channel.
