Euro NCAP performs a series of crash and safety tests on car models: ▶ a frontal impact test where 50% of the width of the car strikes an oncoming deformable barrier, travelling at 50 km/h ▶ a frontal impact test where the car impacts a full-width rigid barrier ▶ a side impact test where a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door  ▶ a pole test where the car is propelled sideways into a rigid pole  ▶ a whiplash test performed on a sled. A series of pedestrian tests is also conducted with different impactors: adult and child head forms and lower and upper leg forms. As well as the AEB pedestrian and cyclist tests. In 2023, a test scenario for Cyclist Dooring Prevention was introduced.
