Africa has long been told it lacks talent, the IDIA Fellowship Programme exists to prove otherwise. As Qhala CEO Dr. Shikoh Gitau shares, the fellowship creates intentional space for African women to build, research, grow their skills, and showcase their brilliance in AI and emerging technologies. This video officially kicks off the inaugural IDIA Fellowship cohort, welcoming 12 exceptional women from across Africa working in policy, health, software engineering, and Master’s and PhD research. Over the next six months, the fellows will receive mentorship, technical training, and community support as they develop AI-enabled solutions addressing business needs, maternal health, and socio-economic growth across the continent.
