Kallaji Rathore delegated the rule of Mehwa to his brothers Duda and Patta and went for a pilgrimage to Ujjain to seek blessings of Mahakaleshwar, from there he started his journey towards Dwarka and while in Mewar at a place called Hidkiyakhal when he came to know that Mughals were looting the area, he confronted and killed them. On hearing about his bravery, the then Maharana of Mewar gave Bhainsrorgarh as a fief to Kallaji. Later, when Akbar attacked Chittaur, Jaimal Rathore became injured fighting Mughals and Kalla carried Jaimal on his shoulders fought the Mughals fiercely. Both of them died fighting for the independence of Chittaur.
