ATV Deaths & the Worst ATV Thieves!

The CPSC recently released its annual report and well…ATV deaths are up. ATV Deaths: The Consumer Product Safety Commission recently released its annual report showing that the ATV Death toll has risen to 15,250! Now, these numbers are from data collected between 1982 through 2017, but that is still an unfortunately high amount. That number is only ATVs (not Side by Sides) and it does also not include injuries. Speaking of injuries, in 2017 there were over 93,800 injuries. That’s approximately 257 injuries a day! The CPSC also provides a lot of other statistical information, such as ATV Deaths when it comes to children. In 2017, 26 children under the age of 12 died from ATV Deaths. If we raise the age of children to 16, it actually accounts for more than 20% of the death toll during 2017. That’s a very tragic number and way to many ATV Deaths (although one is too many). Now, if we look over the past decade or two, ATV Deaths and injuries are actually down. In 2007, there were over 150,000 injuries related to ATVs. So while the numbers are still unfortunately high hopefully, we can continue to see them decrease in future years. ATV Thieves: Recently a couple of ATV Thieves decided to steal a 1982 Yamaha after scoping it out behind a business. So after struggling to get the ATV in the back of an F250, they finally manage to get it…well, mostly in. In an effort not to stick around too long, they climb into the truck and take off. Shockingly…well, at least to them when they took off the ATV shot right out of the back of the truck. So you know…if you want to be the type of Thief that steals ATVs…at least learn to tie them down. Or here is a better idea, don’t steal from others, to begin with! Destination Polaris The next season of Destination Polaris started on April 7th. If you are not tracking much about the show, basically they cover everything from racing, to custom builds, and great places to ride. Now as you can guess by the name…they are going to have a heavy focus on Polaris. Even if you are not a big Polaris fan though, the show is still worth checking out.
