We spend a few hours capturing the action at the legendary New Jersey Transit Hoboken Terminal. Yes, it is like a full service railroad museum with many trains powered by over 50 year old EMD diesels. We cover the PM Rush Hour getting numerous trains. You will see the usual modern ALP45DP and PL42AC locomotives on a few trains but we will mainly concentrate on the many trains powered by EMD dinosaurs of NJT and Metro North. You will see graphics regarding these locomotives showing the builders year and the original railroad they served after the building date. It’s amazing that these EMD diehards are still in regular revenue service over a half century later. Supreme credit goes to the masterful NJT diesel locomotive mechanics, likely the best in the world, as they keep a large number of these ancient locomotives running like a finely tuned Swiss watch.
