From Cancellation to Collaboration: Deaf Collab Austin 2025 Is Happening!

When the NLTC was canceled, the Deaf community didn’t give up — we came together. Now, Deaf Collab Austin 2025 is happening, thanks to the dedication, teamwork, and love from Deaf leaders nationwide. This event is proof that our community can rebuild, reconnect, and rise stronger than ever. Let’s continue supporting each other and empowering the next generation of Deaf leaders. I’m Kelby Brick I’m truly excited to announce that next week will actually happen. We have reserved locations. DEAF COLLAB AUSTIN 2025! The Deaf community has come together. Lots of support and contributions. This is a true collaboration. Hence, DEAF COLLAB AUSTIN 2025! Now to the good news! Lots of people have volunteered to find places. We have identified places and determined where we will host next week. Tremendous thanks to Carrie Lou Bloom, head of the National Deaf Center, who went out of her way to support this community building effort. She has reserved space at The Union at the University of Texas. Space that can hold up to 199 people! Plenty of space! That’s real COLLAB! For Thursday and Friday day time! And that’s not all! The NDC will also sponsor breakfast and lunch! So we can focus on our business than having everyone leave the place for lunch and then herding them like cats to get everyone back. NDC's generosity is helping us do more and be more efficient! Wow. I’m truly inspired! I hope you are too?! We were initial planning only on organizing our DEAF COLLAB for just Thursday and Friday. However, we found out that the community events for Saturday has been cancelled. We extended DEAF COLLAB AUSTIN! An additional day! Thursday, Friday, and Saturday! Saturday will be at the Austin Deaf Club! Yes, Saturday! We will have program that is being led by Char Scully, President of Tenn. Assoc. of the Deaf. She took the initiative to contact original speakers scheduled for next week asking if they would still come and present. Many of them responded wholeheartedly YES! Very positive energy coming from them! Lots of things coming together through the commitment of volunteers, support of various sate associations and others! And I have more news!
