The Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences Department at UTMB Health in Galveston is one of the oldest in the Southwest and has a rich tradition of service and education excellence. Our vision is to train each of our residents to excel as top-notch clinicians in our field and assume positions of leadership in their career, accomplishing this in a challenging, yet nurturing environment. To that end, we have carefully designed a unique curriculum that provides graduated training in ophthalmic clinical, surgical, and research skills. Due to the current pandemic, we regret that we cannot provide in-person interviews and tours of our campus and facilities, but we hope that this virtual video tour will give you a better understanding of our program and offer important insights from our residents.
