1️⃣ Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s Martyrdom (1675) • Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji was arrested by Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb for defending the religious freedom of Kashmiri Pandits. • He was imprisoned in the Red Fort before being taken to Chandni Chowk, where he was martyred. • This event is a cornerstone of Sikh history, symbolizing sacrifice and protection of faith. 2️⃣ Banda Singh Bahadur & Sikh Martyrs (1716) • Inspired by Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Banda Singh Bahadur and hundreds of Sikh followers were captured by the Mughals. • They were presented at the Red Fort, where many faced harsh executions, remaining steadfast in their faith. 3️⃣ Baghel Singh Ji & Sikh Victory (1783) • Baghel Singh Ji led the Sikh army to capture Delhi in 1783. • The Nishan Sahib (Sikh flag) was raised atop the Red Fort, marking a historic Sikh triumph. • Baghel Singh Ji also established key Gurdwaras in Delhi, including Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib and Rakaab Ganj Sahib. 4️⃣ Role During British Era • During the 1857 revolt and later under British rule, the Red Fort was used for trials and administrative purposes. • Many Sikh soldiers and freedom fighters were involved, maintaining its link to Sikh heritage.
