講師:黃楚翔教授(國立臺灣大學電機系) Abstract : Fifth generation (5G) cellular communication system provides a flexible system architecture that enables wireless communication technology to penetrate different verticals and connect various devices. Since 5G devices began to appear in the market, we have seen connected systems implemented across multiple use cases in different scenarios, e.g., vehicular network, high speed train, broadcast, and even satellite communications. For the next generation communication system, i.e., 6G, we expect a more intelligent, functionally diversified and ubiquitously connected cellular communication systems. During this transitional milestone, it’s important to understand how the standardization groups, which spans across industry, academia and regulation bodies, organize the agenda and create the specifications for the next generation communication system. Since the communication standard determines the system architecture, deployment framework, new features and functionalities of the system, tremendous efforts were devoted in every generation when the specification procedure is in progress. 6G is expected to integrate more novel technologies, including artificial intelligence and sensing, which makes the standardization process more important due to the further complication of seamless integrating various of systems and functionalities. In this course, we will cover the potential developing directions of the next generation communication system, and more important, how these specifications will be discussed and determined based on the developing courses of the past generations of communication system specification experiences.
