Belgian born composer and keyboard musician, Joseph Jongen (1873-1953), was formally putting music to paper by his 13th birthday. With hundreds of scores written for various ensembles along with organ solo, his most monumental work may be the Symphonie Concertante, commissioned by department store owner, Rodman Wanamaker. Written for the famed Wanamaker Grand Court organ - one of the largest instruments in the world - the 1926 work's debut on that organ was precluded by the death of Mr. Wanamaker. Some 80 years later, it was finally performed on the Wanamaker organ with the inclusion of the Philadelphia Orchestra. This Petite Pièce for organ was written in 1936. It is certainly "petite" in comparison to the mighty Symphonie Concertane, but contains elements of Jongen's musical style wherein harmonies and melodic lines are concerned. I'm using Hauptwerk Virtual Pipe Organ Software with the sample set of the Saarbrüken, Sankt Arnual Kuhn instrument.
