“Repetition Repeat” is a slice of new wave-themed hard rock with big pop hooks. Think Devo meets Queens of the Stone Age. It’s a slight departure from the sleaze-metal sound on band’s debut album, yet it still retains all the hard rock power, sonic punch, and wall of guitars the band is known for. “The best thing about being in this band is the unapologetic reckless genre jumping,” says guitarist Post, who confirms the band are hard at work on its full-length sophomore album. “Repetition Repeat” serves as the lead track to that effort, which will be out in early 2025. “‘Repetition Repeat’ was originally written during the Covid pandemic when everyone was told to stay inside and lots of people got laid off from their jobs,” explains frontman Meyer, who is also known for his work in punk rock cult heroes the Streetwalkin’ Cheetahs, punk legends Fear, and Iggy & the Stooges guitarist James Williamson. “I felt like I was stuck in this time loop of doing the same things and seeing the same places every day. Now, here we are years later, and we got the same two clowns running for office, slinging mud at each other yet again. Another damn time loop!” The hilarious music video was directed and stars comedian/filmmaker Aubrey Mayne. “Aubry really knocked it out of the park with the video,” says Meyer. “It really connects the dots of these themes. She nailed the fun and humor of the song, and really connected the themes in the lyrics to current events and our Netflix/Amazon-driven society in general.
