Welcome to Talking Smart: Conversations with Colleagues in Education and Philosophy from Around The World. I am your host, Richard (Mort) Morehouse. Today’s Guest is Professor David Gardiner. In 2024, David Gardiner was elected Professor Emeritus in Theatre at Viterbo University. He has taught courses at Viterbo University from 2001 to 2024. Among the courses he regularly taught were Acting, Directing, Playwriting, Shakespeare, and Period Style. Additionally, he directed scores of plays at Viterbo. Gardiner received his BFA at the Goodman Theatre School of Drama in 1963 and his M.A. in Theatre from the University of Arizona in 1963. Professor Gardiner was also a Professor at Beijing University in Beijing, China, where he directed two plays and taught a course in Shakespeare. He was also a teacher at the University of Florida and the University of Rhode Island. Between 1978 and 2001, Professor Gardiner also taught and directed plays in Denmark, Sweden, and England.
