On Sept. 12, 2025, multiple U.S. military units conducted training at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey, demonstrating the installation’s role as a premier site for joint readiness. The 102nd Cavalry Regiment, a New Jersey Army National Guard unit headquartered in Newark with a distinguished combat history from World War II to modern deployments in Iraq, Jordan, and Somalia, carried out rifle zero training on ASA Fort Dix Range 18B as a prerequisite to rifle qualification. Meanwhile, the Northeast Medical Area Readiness Support Group (NE-MARSG), an Army Reserve brigade-level command based at Fort Wadsworth in Staten Island, New York, conducted rifle zero training on ASA Fort Dix Range 33. NE-MARSG serves as the operational arm of the Army Reserve Medical Command for the Northeast Region, supporting medical units across the area. Additionally, Airmen from the U.S. Air Force 521st Contingency Response Squadron (CRS) trained on the ASA Fort Dix NATO Standard Obstacle Course—the only course of its kind in the United States. The 521st CRS, whose mission is to rapidly assess, open, operate, sustain, and defend expeditionary airfields and aerial ports worldwide, negotiated the three-lane, 500-meter course with 20 obstacles under timed conditions. Together, these training events highlight the diverse missions of Army National Guard, Army Reserve, and Air Force units, underscoring Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst’s vital role in maintaining joint operational readiness.
