Were was the blood coming from?" the two appalling questions was put by a Bihar MLA to a girl whose friend was found murdered recently. Allegations are that the victim, a Class 10 student, was raped before being killed. During his visit to a government girls hostel in Hajipur, Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) MLA Lalan Paswan interrogated a student whose friend's body was found on Sunday (January 8). RLSP, founded by Union Minister Upendra Kushwaha, is an ally of the BJP. "You say something bad happened to her. Where was the blood coming from? You are an educated girl, you should tell clearly what you know. What will you do tomorrow if something of that sort happens to you?" Paswan asked the girl who was visibly uncomfortable with such crass quizzing by the minister. 'I asked relevant questions" Speaking to India Today, Paswan defended himself saying he did not ask any insensitive question to the girl. "I didn't ask any indecent question. They were actually relevant. I wanted to ascertain whether the girl was raped, killed or if it was a suicide case," Paswan said. Paswan's shocking comments come just days after Karnataka Home Minister G Parameswara described New Year mass molestation in Bengaluru as a non-issue. "Such things do happen," Parameswara had said. The minister had later blamed the media of misquoting him.
