In this video, Nicole your ElectroYogi Electrolysis goddess in Los Angeles shares her story of having arterial and neurogenic Thoracic Outlet Syndrome due to the congenital presence of a cervical rib as well as a many decades of athleticism and workplace repetitive stress in her 17 years as an electrologist. She also shares the story of her decision to move forward with surgery to remove the cervical rib and the other compressing muscles which were chronically affecting her nerves in the neck, arm, head, and her subclavian artery. This video was filmed on day four following surgery at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. My outstanding care team hails from the fantastic Los Angeles Nerve Institute and the Cedars Sinai Division of Vascular Surgery. Though I am just at the beginning of recovery post-surgery from the first side of two requiring cervical rib removal, anterior and middle scalenectomy, pectoralis minor release, and brachial plexus reconstruction, I can confidently share that the concern, care, and expertise provided by my surgeons Dr. Mitch Seruya and Dr. Ali Azizzadeh (both affiliated with Cedars Sinai) as well as their unbelievably kind and capable teams has been outstanding. I look forward to sharing more of my healing as it unfolds, in the hope of helping others who may be suffering from this rare and often debilitating condition.
