Welcome to the future of tattoos, with soundwave tattoos you can hear using a phone app. If you’re not content for your tattoos to just be a piece of art on your body, technology developed by Skin Motion, means tattoos can now have sound. Here’s how it works, an audio file needs to be uploaded or recorded into the phone app, which then creates a soundwave. Skin Motion then creates a soundwave stencil, that you can take to get tattooed. Once it's tattooed, you upload a picture of it to their website, and then they link that image or your tattoo to play back the audio clip using the Skin Motion app. Now before you rush out to go your own soundwave tattoo, you need to understand, that the waveform tattoo is entirely locked to Skin Motion. So, if the company goes out of business, then you’ve just got a useless waveform tattooed onto your body. But that does not really mean a whole lot, because the waveform audio costs a flat fee of $39.99 US, and then $9.99 US per year thereafter for the service. So if you stop paying, it stops working.
