Take His Yoke 1. Build your faith - God has Someone Perfect for You Matt 11:29-30 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Eph 5:17 do not be unwise but understand what the will of the Lord is. God’s will for your life is to win souls and make disciples God also has a plan and purpose for every life (Jer 1:5) God joins people together for his plans and purposes Rom 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. 2. The Danger of Messing Around – Sin Makes our Judgment Skewed Matt 6:23 if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a harlot? Certainly not! 16 Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her? For “the two, ”He says, “shall become one flesh.” 17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him 18 Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s. 3. Let the Lord Prepare Your Character now for what He has for you Next Prov 18:22 He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains His favor The wife is called to submission (under a vision) to respect, to regard, and deeply care for him, reverence and be in awe of, serving him, honoring him, and building him up, all of it as to the Lord The Husband is called to lay his life down for her, he is to sacrifice for her, he is to feed and develop her, and he is to cherish her 4. Be Faithful to Serve the Lord now Without Worry or Distraction 1 Cor 7:32-35 I want you to be without care. He who is unmarried cares for the things of the Lord how he may please the Lord. 33 But he who is married cares about the things of the world how he may please his wife. 34 There is a difference between a wife and a virgin (single). The unmarried woman cares about the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit. But she who is married cares about the things of the world—how she may please her husband. 35 And this I say for your own profit, not that I may put a leash on you, but for what is proper, and that you may serve the Lord without distraction. Matt 6:31-33 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
