Understanding Local Adaptation Plans For Action (LAPA) Framework

Industrialization, fossil fuels, deforestation and unplanned urbanization have accelerated greenhouse gas emissions, and thereby increased global atmospheric temperature. Nepal is ranked and listed as one of the most climate vulnerable countries in the world. Government of Nepal initiated the National Adaptation Program of Action (NAPA) to help people adapt to the adverse impacts of climate change by understanding the overall vulnerability. The Framework for Local Adaptation Plans for Action (LAPA) was prepared to implement NAPA priorities in the local bodies such as VDC, Municipality and District Development Committees. The video describes in detail the steps that are being carried during the LAPA formulation and implementation.
