Geospatial Solutions for Coastal Mapping and Management Webinar

Join Woolpert and Bluesky, a Woolpert Company, for a focused session detailing the benefits of bathymetric LiDAR to support and enhance coastal mapping projects. We welcome Stuart Caie from LINZ, a Government body which is currently conducting a large-scale 3D coastal mapping programme in New Zealand with the purpose to help the country prepare for the impacts of climate change and understand how its coastline is changing. Stuart will discuss how the data collected by Woolpert will be used to create detailed 3D maps of the coast and adjacent seafloor, providing a baseline from which to measure changes to coastal areas in the future. For example, from climate events and natural hazards such as tsunami and earthquakes. This mapping will help decision-makers keep communities and infrastructure safe and protect ocean biodiversity through improved habitat mapping. LINZ will also use data collected to update nautical charts for maritime safety, a core part of its Hydrographic work programme.
