The production process of a small bar and wire rod mill at Hyundai Steel in Dangjin, South Korea

This combination mill started up in October 2015 and produces bar in bundles, bar in coils and wire rod coils on three lines. It has an capacity of 800,000 tons and is particularly designed for thermomechanical rolling to achieve superior microstructures of long rolled end products for automotive applications. The rolling train and straight bar outlet shown in this video are jointly developed by Primetals Technologies and POMINI Long Rolling Mills.
