Looking for a Halloween craft that’s tactile, creative and classroom-friendly? These hanging ghosts are made using plaster rolls and balloons to create a spooky 3D shape -perfect for adding some eerie charm to your classroom ceiling or display. Simple, satisfying and wonderfully ghostly! You’ll need: Quick Drying Plaster Rolls (AM0451) Halloween Pile Cleaners (NEW) Easy Clean Messy Mats (TEB5102) Balloons (X104) Joggle Eyes (CL5333K) Strong Craft Glue (CS0004) Mixing Bowls (KTP1011) Masking Tape (TEBPPMT) Scissors Let’s make it! 1. Blow up a balloon roughly 1/3 of the way and sit on a paper cup to keep steady. Place on a Messy Mat. 2. Use masking tape to flatten down the balloon’s knot bump, leaving the end of the balloon sticking up. 3. In a bowl, cut strips of Quick Drying Plaster Roll, short lengths and long 30cm lengths. 4. Add water to a shallow bowl. 5. Dip the shorter lengths of plaster roll into the water and place onto the balloon. Use your fingers to gently smooth down. Continue until half the balloon is covered with two layers (make sure to leave the balloon end sticking out). 6. Dip the long lengths of plaster roll into the water and drape over the balloon, letting them hang down and rest on the messy mat for that classic ghost shape. 7. Rest until fully dry. 8. Once dry, the plaster will be hard. Pop the balloon and remove it. 9. Bend a Halloween-coloured pipe cleaner into a loop, push the ends through the hole at the top of your ghost, and secure the loose ends inside with masking tape. 10. Use strong glue to attach joggle eyes and use a marker to draw a mouth if desired. Leave to dry. 11. Hang the ghosts from the ceiling or around the room for a spooky classroom vibe. Done! The perfect Halloween spooky ghost is ready! *TOP TIP – Only a brief dip through the water is enough to soften the plaster on the rolls, making them soft and pliable to work with.
