Understanding Visual Culture in the Modern World | University of Tasmania

Tasmanian College of the Arts lecturer Meg Keating is primarily based in paint and is particularly interested in how we use technology as a way of mediating the world, using painting as a critique of that altered vision of our surrounding environment. Keating’s work is inspired by traditional South East Asian folk art techniques, in particular cutting practices and stencil making. In doing this Keating takes traditional craft methods to re-contextualise how we perceive the world through a screen.
