CHOOSING THE RIGHT SNORKEL | Beginners guide to the features and buying a Snorkel | SCUBA DIVING

Beginners guide to the features and buying a Snorkel. What to look for, features and options available in a snorkel, to help you decide what you need when buying your next Snorkel! In this video Andy shares his knowledge of what you should look for when choosing a snorkel for freediving, spearfishing or scuba diving. Each snorkel is designed to meet specific needs of individuals based on personal preference. The price of the snorkel will be dependent on how advanced the design is. Some snorkels are just the basic U-shaped design perfect for basic snorkelling. Some snorkels will include a brightly coloured top of the snorkel to make you easier to spot and include splash guards with more advanced snorkels including a valve at the top of the snorkel, which closes as you descend to prevent water entering the snorkel. Purge valve systems can also be included to allow water to be expelled from the mushroom valve without having to push it through the top of the snorkel. This is a must have feature to reduce wet breaths.
