Duke reflektuar mbi momentin historik kur la pushtetin në vitin 1992, Ramiz Alia shpjegon arsyet e largimit të tij pa dhunë, një akt që shënoi fundin formal të regjimit komunist në Shqipëri. Ai thekson se dorëzimi i pushtetit erdhi si pasojë e fitores së Partisë Demokratike, e cila kishte ardhur me premtime të mëdha për një "çek të bardhë" dhe ndihmë ndërkombëtare.
