Metrotown Celebrates Chinese Lunar New Year 🧧 2026 with Amazing Lion Dance Performance Metrotown is ringing in the year of the Horse with a packed schedule of cultural programming,hands-on activities,live performances and yes,dumplings.Chinatown Storytelling Centre presented one of the centrepieces this year-the Vitality-a new immersive exhibition.For kids and kids alike,a LEGO Lunar New Year pop-up takes over from February 7-11 with free build tables,a life-sized LEGO lion ,red-and-gold decor,and a wishing tree where visitors can jot down hopes for the year ahead.Today ,2-21-26,there’s a Lion dance performance complete with storytelling,a learn-how-to-lion-dance session and a God of Fortune center blessing to round out the day.
