A short documentary by Réyon Brinkmann about the first 'metal front' in The Netherlands: Metal Front Coevorden. This is one of the last real independent DIY music venues in Holland, and one of the finest heavy metal dive bars still around. Established in 1982 as a club house of motorclub Coevorden (MCC), it evolved as the Home of Metal Front Coevorden in the late '80's and hosted a series of MetalBlast festivals in the early '90's and was the birthplace of the Boer Area metal (the North-East Dutch equivalent of Bay Area metal), where bands like ALTAR (Youth Against Christ) used to rehearse. Metal Front Coevorden still hosts various (inter-)national bands on a yearly basis and organises gigs, open stages and the loudest Christmas metal festival of the Netherlands: 'A Very Heavy X-Mosh'. In this short film, you will be introduced to this unique venue, some of its visitors and it's history, describing the evolution from motorclub to a local music association that consists out of 100+ supporting members, who still keep the local music scene going strong for more than 30 years now!
