In this Brown Bag Lunch, exhibit designer John LoCastro provides a personal look at the evolution of his design or illustration process for a number of the maritime-themed projects he has been involved with over his long career, including the traveling exhibit, The Maple Leaf. He and his company, Synergy Design Group were commissioned to create this compact traveling exhibit documenting the events surrounding the sinking of this historic paddle-wheel steamer in the St. John’s River in 1864. The exhibit, designed for the Museum of Florida History, involved close collaboration with explorer/discoverer Dr. Keith Holland, and Lee Manley, lead diver, over the course of several months.
