Can you beat Lego Fortnite Odyssey before the server restarts (in under 4 hours)? The answer is yes, of course, but it took a week to get down pat. More details below... 0:00 Seed creation 0:58 Run Start 3:15:49 Storm King Boss Fight 3:45:53 Run End So yeah Lego Fortnite Odyssey has a proper final boss and endgame now, and it's actually pretty good. Way more than just a glorified afk XP farm like some people say, it's a survival game with Souls-like combat and Terraria-like progression that you can play with friends. The game can get pretty hard on its own on Expert (hardcore mode with permadeath), but I wanted to take the difficulty to the next level: beating the WHOLE game (killing the Storm King) on Expert mode, solo, on a random seed, AND within a single server session before the game restarts (under 4 hours). I'd consider beating the server lifetime the ultimate challenge this game has to offer. The sub 4 hour run requires a lot of optimization and tricks--you need to be fast, and you can't waste time grinding gear and powering yourself up by going to the Lost Isles like you would in a regular game. To fight the Storm King, you actually need to complete a majority of the Storm Chaser village questline--not only is the Storm King actually inaccessible before you do this, but the quests also help you get powered up enough to actually be able to survive against him. The rough chain of events for early game goes as follows: getting your free revive from Triggerfish, of course finding the first Bus Stop (and using it as a pseudo-launchpad) getting Frostpine (unlocks some parts necessary for a quicker vehicle build) getting Wolf Claw and a shell (for pickaxes/health charm) finding the Storm Chaser Base Camp and breaking all the decor apart in it for free extra resources (that early Amber Crossbow is a godsend and makes most fights much easier) ...and from here, you follow the usual questline up until level 8. It's worth noting that you need 10 Eyes of the Storm to unlock the Tempest Gate once the game allows you to, but doing the questline gives you 6 for free (from Carl Ruckus and from killing Raven) so you only need to grind for 4. You need to do a lot of traveling in this run and on-foot doesn't cut it. Regular vehicles don't help either because they take too long to grind mats for, too long to build, are not fast or super maneuverable and cost too much to maintain (they can easily break!). This is why for a speedrun you have to build the smallest, most efficient vehicle possible--a tiny hovercraft powered by balloon propulsion. You can see me build it at 1:11:16. I stole it from @AbideGuy of course, which you can find the build for here: • (broken) Smallest Helicopter in Fortnite O... (It doesn't have a name, but I personally call it the Backshot Mobile.) I had a lot of fun labbing this run tbh. The game itself has all the appeal of a roguelike, but you can play it however you want--whether it's easy on Cozy mode, or a tough-as-nails hardcore survival game on Expert. The 4 hour time limit adds a whole new dimension to the game where time management becomes way more crucial. I highly recommend trying the Lego Fortnite 4 hour challenge, especially if you've done all there is to do in the game. It does actually notify you when it will restart--so you have a visual reminder! My run isn't really the best either--I wasted a LOT of time meandering around early game because of bad seeding and RNG putting all the caves and village very far apart, and some time late game was wasted crafting stuff I never used. On top of that, the Storm King fight itself was super messy and not as fast as it could have been--it was very much a learning experience, as I didn't know you had to go through the weakpoint cycle all over again if you don't damage his horn enough. So yeah, this "speedrun" was definitely just to prove that it's possible--there's definitely room for improvement! If you read this far, thank you for watching! I hope this encourages more people to speedrun Lego Fortnite Odyssey (or even just try the game outright)! #speedrun #legofortnite
