welcome to this weeks woodturning video. In this woodworking video I use a woodturning lathe to turn a big ash burl into vase. when woodturning a piece like this I like to nibble away at it until I see what shape the wood wants to be, this is what is so enjoyable about woodturning. This piece of Ash ended up not showing as much burl figure as I was expecting from it although it has some lovely grain patterns. I used a blow torch to burn the rim, I feel I could have done this better but every fail is a lesson for next time.
